Short Term Accommodation Services

What is Short-Term Accommodation?

Short Term Accommodation (STA) offers a short stay in a Forsight home for people with disabilities.

It provides an opportunity to meet new people, make new friendships, explore new environments, and learn new skills. It also offers parents or carers the opportunity to have a break or ensure constant care if they are unable to do so for a short period of time.

STA is available for between 2 and 6 weeks per year and you can take it in whatever time periods suit you.

How can I access Short-Term Accommodation?

Short Term Accommodation was previously known as “Respite”. It is funded within your NDIS plan under ‘Core Supports – Assistance with Daily Life’.

What does my Short-Term Accommodation include?

Our homes are just that – homes where you can feel comfortable, safe, and cared for. At Forsight you can expect to be welcomed into your temporary home by a team of people dedicated to making your stay memorable. Our team is trained in Active Support meaning they do things with you, not for you.

Your accommodation includes support with your daily personal care, transportation to your normal activities such as day program if required, medical and allied health appointments as well as daily meal preparation according to your nutritional needs. Depending on your needs, you can expect to be supported by a member of our team around the clock.

Your short-term stay will be based on your compatibility with other members in the shared household and your needs to ensure you have a positive experience.
